Screen Porch Addition - Worthington, Ohio

This particular property contains a beautiful ravine - the view is amazing, and yet, the existing home didn't have any spaces to allow this client to enjoy the scenery.

So, we fixed that issue by creating a vaulted screen porch to view the trees and sky.  The lower deck steps down so as to not hinder the view with railing and furniture.  The addition cascades down the hill, in a way; truly responding the the site.

The lower deck contains a sunken hot tub, so the railing system was very important here as well.  The thin tension wires virtually disappear into the landscape.

The interior is natural and rustic; to blend in with the outdoors.  The ceiling is painted white to help brighten the space and visually tie it back to the original cape cod house.

The side of the screen porch also cascades towards the driveway and garage.  The detached garage is quite lower than the house, creating a challenging opportunity to connect the house to the garage.
