An Old Home’s Character is one of the MOST important things to maintain when remodeling a home. Sure, the house should be modernized, possibly opened up a bit (not too much, though!), and needs to function for families today. The character should be left in-tact, enhanced, and improved upon.

Part of maintaining the character of a home is keeping the scale of the rooms. Open up the walls, but still add carpentry to the openings - not completely open spaces. Those actually make homes feel smaller, believe it or not!

The sketches we do while designing are extremely helpful in giving a style to the space.
